Personal Statement

I'm an award-winning, CIM accredited, Marketing Communications specialist with a First Class Honours and four years industry experience. I have accelerated growth, communicated key brand messages and disrupted the market across multiple industries including FMCG, technology, health and education. I'm used to working directly with Directors and Founders to align marketing with overall company goals, introducing innovative solutions and nurturing existing channels to contribute value to revenue streams. I'm a passionate marketing activist that enjoys making communications a key pillar to success for businesses; all while building my reputation and trust as a freelance consultant too. Founders have given me referrals based on my self-motivated style and digital talents, securing 3 new clients for my freelance portfolio since lockdown began. One of my proudest achievements to date is writing a marketing campaign entry that won the Global Horizons Award and a fully-funded international placement, working in New York, NY for four months.

I am a Social Channel Specialist. Clients and businesses rely on me to continuously optimise my approach to social media; staying on top of new features and trends for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, SnapChat and Tik Tok. This allows me to seek out new opportunities for digital marketing, ensuring my brand is always reactive and ahead of our competitors in this space. It's also within this realm that I can execute impactful, creative content to disrupt the market and put my brands at the forefront of the conversation. As well as cross-channel, content scheduling (and analysis), I have experience in influencer management, paid promotions, brand partnerships, community building and optimising user-generated content.

Above Industry-Standard Social Growth - Juice

Juice asked me to pitch at our biggest customer tender due to the rapid growth of our lucrative, digital following that I had built, and turned into a desirable commercial opportunity. As their first investment into marketing, I fast-tracked juice's Instagram following from 1.3k followers to 20k in just eight months: all free activation. Alongside other growing channels such as email, Juice's digital touch-points became attractive (and competitive) to retailers for the first time ever - I was able to market and convert a large, engaged audience into profitable customers.

 

Although we could have accelerated this growth quicker, I knew developing a real, brand-loving community was more valuable long-term, so I focused on completely earned media, leaving paid promotions to sales posts. One innovative strategy I created was to build a network of photographers on Instagram, all looking to build their client portfolio, and reached out to them to shoot with our products - free of charge and mutually beneficial.

Creative Content Marketing

I'm a professional content writer and creative marketer, with blogging at the core of my passion for communications. Since then, I have written copy for products, social posts, branded blogs, email, eBooks and articles. I'm able to adapt to different industries and have been praised on my ability to give depth to the subject of the creative content, leveraging key insight and communicating that message to audiences. I have written articles for TLC Marketing, a B2B agency, that were published in Marketing trade magazine, The Drum, and on the Chartered Institute of Marketing website. These articles were incremental to establishing the agency as leaders within the category and helped our team of two generate £43k in marketing revenue that year. I've also written blogs within the B2C market, launching blog sites for Cakes Angels and Juice.

After my publications, Bournemouth University approached me with the Editor and Blogger Manager role where I lead a team of 20 student bloggers, and became proficient in SEO and CMS (Wordpress). I managed the content creators by holding frequent brain storms for the content plan, editing their work and continuously updating their SEO key words and rankings with them. As well as writing my own content, I also hosted workshops for other students to improve their written communication tactics for personal and business. After a year in the role, I became voted BU's Blogger and Blogger of the Year as we received the most visits to the blog that year.

From a PR perspective, I've written numerous press articles and award entries, one of which won Juice the Best Mobile Accessory Manufacturer  at the Mobile News Awards 2020. This was a huge achievement, as we were up against big brands in the industry and it helped us drum up excitement in a marketing campaign to approach new businesses.
