It was Summer 2017 and I was finishing my placement at TLC Marketing on a high because I had just landed a blogging role at Bournemouth University. One year on and I'm delighted to announce that I received the BU Blogs and Vlogs Award at the Student Ambassador Award Ceremony 2018!
“An awards ceremony recognising the outstanding work of around 70 student ambassadors was held in the Fusion Building last week. Now in its third year, around 70 student ambassadors attended the event to celebrate the various achievements of their peers”.
This role has been an amazing opportunity for me to nurture the skills I obtained during my placement. I really loved writing content and it was a great way of sharing my BU experience with prospect students. A couple weeks into the role, my application for the Marketing Content Editor position was successful and I was able to manage my own team of Content Producers (Bloggers and Vloggers) for the first time in my career. As well as writing my own content still, being an Editor was a lot of fun as I had additional responsibility and personally loved hosting the hub where all of the new ideas were created and distributed.
Overall, it was a challenging yet extremely rewarding experience. Doing it alongside my final year work was more of an advantage than a inconvenience as I was able to switch from academic writing to conversational when things were getting a bit more intense. I’ve learnt so much in the role and would like to thank everyone that nominated me, Bournemouth University for the Award and the Content Producers for a fabulous year! Congratulations to all of the winners this year and good luck for whatever you’re doing after June!
